Who is this for?

This guide is specifically for tradespeople. It covers what you need to do before and during installation. Please follow this guide to ensure we can assist you as quickly as possible.

Step 1 - House size

Complete a whole house size calculation. Depending on what type of system you are installing, the following ESE process will apply for cable, boiler fed or heat pump fed systems.

Step 2 - Complete an Electricity Supply Enquiry (ESE) form

Complete the ESE form to ensure the home's electricity service and local network can accept the additional load. This important step protects you and your customer!

The ESE form is an editable PDF. You can complete it using a computer, or print it and fill it out by hand.

Step 4 - We confirm receipt of your application

Once we've received your completed ESE form, we will send you written confirmation and begin processing your application.

Step 5 - Plan your installation

Plan your installation. You will need to decide between the two types of underfloor heating:

  • Wet underfloor heating
  • Cable underfloor heating

If you comply with our Approved Heating Guidelines, your customer can benefit from our Economy 20 Plus discounted heating tariff.

Step 6 - Changing tariff?

If your customer is changing tariff, you will also need to submit a Connection of Meter form quoting your ESE number from your confirmation letter. You'll need to run a new supply from the meter to the boiler, heat pump or cable circuits to take advantage of our Economy20+ tariff, with the appropriate isolation at the meter and heating appliance or circuit.

Please send your completed form to our Metering Team by the following methods:
