Our Vision is to inspire a zero carbon future. JE significantly reduced Jersey’s carbon emissions with our strategy to import low-carbon electricity from France in 1985 – virtually decarbonising our electricity system.
Since 1990, we have already reduced emissions from the supply of electricity in Jersey by over 90%, driving a 36% reduction in the Island’s overall carbon emissions despite a 60% increase in electricity consumption.
As an Island, the journey to reduce our emissions continues and the Government of Jersey’s Carbon Neutral Roadmap has set a course for Jersey to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
At JE we have set out our Sustainability Framework, which is mapped to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals* and are developing targets that deliver on our ambitions.
Inspired by our Vision, JE will continue to be a key driver of Jersey’s reduction in carbon emissions – preserving our beautiful Island for generations to come.

*The United Nations Sustainability Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a ‘shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future’.
