As we tackle the aftermath of Storm Ciarán, we're pleased to report substantial progress in our restoration efforts across the island. With 20 dedicated teams working across multiple locations today, we are making headway in bringing power back to affected areas.

Our crews have been deployed island-wide, addressing the most urgent cases first and methodically working towards ensuring every home and business regains electricity as soon as possible. The dedication of our teams, coupled with the community's patience and support, has been pivotal in our response to this unforeseen event.

We understand the inconvenience and disruption caused by power outages, especially following such extreme weather conditions. We are committed to restoring normalcy and will continue to provide updates over the coming days.

Current Status

We currently have around 70 personnel actively working around the island, with an additional 30 individuals providing essential support to these teams. Our UK team is composed of linespeople, tree cutters, support staff, and individuals in management and operational roles. Additionally, our procurement team is engaged in acquiring extra supplies and equipment from the UK to aid our restoration efforts.

In terms of work carried out today, the teams have been implementing fixes, setting up temporary overground cables, conducting overhead work, and installing temporary generators.

At present, our operations across the island are focused on Meadowbank, the Beauveland and Croix Messervy area in St Martin, Mont Nicole, Corbiere, St Ouen, St John, and Trinity.

The upcoming targeted locations for restoration are Fliquet, La Rigondaine, Mont Les Vaux, Crown Stores, St Clement, Mont Felard, and Wellington Hill.

Latest Restorations Completed

So far today, we have successfully restored power to 87 customers.

Challenges Faced

The storm caused major trees to fall on our overhead lines, requiring their clearance before repairs can begin. We are making steady progress, but extensive repairs are necessary for certain lines and poles. Additional resource and equipment from the UK, including extra tree cutting equipment have been deployed. Bad weather continues to hamper restoration crews.
