In the wake of Storm Ciarán, our restoration strategy continues. Today, we've deployed over 80 personnel, spread across 20 teams, working throughout the Island.

We've now re-connected more than 700 homes and businesses, and our immediate focus is on fewer than 100 customers without power.

We owe huge thanks to the commitment of our crews, and the Island’s understanding and support to help us complete what has been a mammoth task to fully repair the Island’s electricity network.

Current Status

We currently have around 80 personnel working around the Island, with an additional 30 colleagues providing essential support to these teams.

Today's activities include

  • Implementing temporary fixes to ensure immediate power supply.
  • Laying temporary overground cables to bypass damaged infrastructure.
  • Conducting extensive overhead line work to secure the network.
  • Rebuilding overhead poles that have been compromised.
  • Clearing trees that have fallen and obstructed lines.
  • Undertaking complex cable work to ensure safety and functionality.
  • These repairs are taking place across multiple locations. Currently, work is being carried out in:
    • Rue de Beauvelande,
    • Croix Messervy,
    • Mont Nicolle,
    • Fliquet,
    • La Rigondaine,
    • Mont Le Vaux,
    • Mont Felard,
    • Valle des Vaux,
    • Mont Cochon,
    • Grands Vaux, and
    • La Route de Francheville

We appreciate the patience and support of the Island’s community as we continue to restore everyone’s electricity supply.

Latest Restorations Completed

Over 700 restorations completed, with fewer than 100 customers remaining without power (these customers are our priority).

Challenges Faced

The significant damage caused by fallen trees that impacted our overhead lines continues to be a challenge, this has necessitated their removal before we can commence with repairs. Our progress is consistent, though comprehensive repairs are needed for specific lines and poles.
