Fuelling environmental ambitions of the future generation
The Trust has been delivering environmental education for nearly 15 years. In 2020, JE began the sponsorship of The National Trust for Jersey’s education initiative, which aims to address the global climate change and biodiversity crisis that Jersey is experiencing.
JE has renewed our sponsorship of the programme for another three years, working closely with Erin, to focus the programme on biodiversity loss recognising the causes and impacts of its loss and how to prevent this.
Educating children and students on climate change
The Trust and JE share a vision for the education programme to educate Jersey’s children and young people on key environmental issues and empower them to become agents of change. The programme offers activites for both schools, to support the curriculum, and families in the school holidays.
Bespoke school workshops, free of charge
The programme’s school workshops cover five themes: Biodiversity, Seas, Pollinators, Woodlands and Climate Change. Students will undertake activities which will encourage them to learn about the threats to these areas, explore them and take action to help.
Enjoy family friendly activites during the holidays
The school holiday sessions are designed to encourage Jersey’s young environmentalists and allow them to discover and learn the natural environment around them. Sessions are free to members and open to the public and include bug safari, woodland wonders and newts and nymphs.
