Terms and Conditions for the Business Community Giving Scheme 

1. Introduction 
These Terms and Conditions, as well as the details outlined in the application form (together referred to as the "Terms") govern the 100 Projects That Matter Community Giving Scheme ("the Scheme") offered by Jersey Electricity (JE) ("we", "our", or "the Organiser"). By applying to the Scheme, applicants agree to comply with these Terms. The Scheme offers funding to local charities, not-for-profit organisations, schools, and registered community groups ("Applicants") for initiatives and projects that support causes related to health, education, environment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

2. About us 

Jersey Electricity is a public company incorporated in Jersey under the company number 67 and it is also listed on the London Stock Exchange. Our registered office address is The Powerhouse, Queens Road, St Helier, Jersey, JE4 8NY.

3. Eligibility 
To be eligible to apply for funding under the Scheme, Applicants must meet the following criteria: 

Be a registered charity, not-for-profit organisation, school, or registered community group. 

Have a clear, demonstrable impact on one or more of the following areas: health, education, environment, or diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Be located in Jersey and be compliant with local laws and regulations. Both the individual applying for the fund and the recipient group must reside in Jersey. 

Provide evidence of their legal status (e.g., registration number or documentation proving not-for-profit status). 

The individual submitting the application for support must do so in a professional capacity and must be able to verify the creditability of the project. 

Applicants must agree to feature in any promotional and communications activity surrounding the funding and the Scheme. 

Not be a political organisation, individual, or for-profit entity. 

4. Application Process 

Applications are open year-round and will be reviewed by the Organiser on a quarterly basis.   

Applications must be submitted via the application form on our designated 100 Projects That Matter webpage, which can be found at: jec.co.uk/100projects, providing all requested documentation and details. Incomplete applications may be disqualified. 

Each application must clearly outline the intended use of the funds, the expected outcomes, and how the project aligns with the Scheme's focus areas (health, education, environment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion). We encourage all applications to be accompanied with documentation to support applications. 

Details of dates for applications: 

Applications received between:  [1st October to 31st December will be considered by the Organiser during the following quarter and the applicant will receive an answer during that following quarter. 

Applications received between: [1 January to 31st March] will be considered by the Organiser during the following quarter and the applicant will receive an answer during that following quarter  

Applications received between: [1st April to 30th June] will be considered by the Organiser during the following quarter and the applicant will receive an answer during that following quarter  

Applications received between: [1st July to 30th September] will be considered by the Organiser during the following quarter and the applicant will receive an answer during that following quarter . 

JE are not liable for applications that are either not received, or which are received incomplete, illegible or corrupt. 

Applicants who are unsuccessful in a previous period of funding are welcome to submit a new application in future funding periods for alternative projects.

5. Funding Details 

The amount of funding available will vary based on the scope of the project and the number of applications received in each quarter. 

[The maximum amount of any award available for any approved project under the Scheme is £5,000.00.] 

The Organiser at its absolute discretion reserves the right to award partial or full funding for any project and to specify conditions relating to any funding provided under the Scheme for any approved project. 

Any award granted under the Scheme will be confirmed by the Organiser in writing and will be subject to such conditions as may be required by the Organiser (taking into account the nature of the project) and which conditions must be agreed by the Applicant before any award is paid. 

Funds awarded under the Scheme must be used exclusively for the approved project or initiative as set out in the application and must not be diverted or used for other purposes without prior written consent from the Organiser. 

Applicants will be required to submit periodic reports on the use of the funds, including how the funds have been spent and the impact achieved. These reports may be requested on a quarterly, bi-annual, or annual basis, depending on the scope of the project. 

The Organiser may ask for receipts, invoices, or other documentation to verify the use of the funds. 

[No project approved under the Scheme will be supported for a period of more than two (2) years.] 

6. Funding Decisions 

All funding decisions are at the absolute discretion of the Organiser. The Organiser is under no obligation to offer any funding pursuant to an application or provide feedback on unsuccessful applications. 

The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Scheme at any time, without prior notice, due to unforeseen circumstances or funding constraints. 

The Organiser will not be liable for any expenses incurred by Applicants during the application process. 

7. Reporting and Accountability 

All successful applicants will be required to assist the Organiser in calculating our social value of the Projects. 

Successful Applicants may be asked to submit periodic reports as requested by the Organiser, detailing the impact and outcomes of the funded project. 

The Organiser may request further documentation or updates regarding the project’s progress, including financial reports and evidence of completed milestones. 

Applicants must retain all receipts and documentation related to the use of the funds for a period of at least two (2) years following completion of the approved project. 

8. Publicity and Recognition 

By accepting the funding, successful Applicants agree to acknowledge the Organiser’s support in public-facing materials related to the funded project (e.g., websites, newsletters, events, etc.). 

The Organiser may use the name, logo, and brief description of the funded project for promotional and publicity purposes, including on its website, social media, and other marketing materials. 

9. Data Protection 

The Organiser will handle all personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and with our Privacy Policy which can be found on our website at: jec.co.uk/privacy-notice/, where applicable. 

By applying to the Scheme, Applicants consent to the Organiser processing their personal and organisational data for the purposes of administering the application, reviewing the proposal, and, if successful, managing the funding. 

For successful applicants, Jersey Electricity may share the name of the school, charity, not-for-profit organisation and registered community group, the value/details of the donation provided by Jersey Electricity  

10. Disqualification and Termination 

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Applicant that provides false or misleading information, breaches these Terms, or fails to meet the necessary criteria. 

The Organiser may also terminate or withhold funding if the funded project fails to meet agreed-upon goals, objectives, or reporting requirements. 

11. Limitation of Liability 

The Applicant will responsible for implementing and running any project which is approved under the Scheme and the Organiser is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of the funding provided under the Scheme, or from any act or omission relating to any project. 

The Organiser’s total liability to any Applicant is limited to the amount of funding provided to that Applicant under the Scheme. 

12. Governing Law 

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands. 

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any project which is approved under the Scheme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Jersey, Channel Islands. 

13. Amendments 

The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.
